Custom LASIK

CustomVue™, Custom LASIK, or Wavefront Guided LASIK provides the highest level of accuracy in measurement and laser vision correction.

Our San Diego Custom LASIK surgeons use the WaveScan® digital technology which was originally developed for use in high-powered telescopes in order to minimize distortion in the view of distant objects in space. The wavefront technology can now be  used to treat imperfections in vision many times more precisely than with standard methods used for standard LASIK, glasses, and contact lenses.

Each person’s eye has a very unique prescription at every small point on the surface of the cornea. Before the recent advancements in Wavefont technology, doctors were only able to use standard glasses measurements to correct vision.

Today our San Diego CustomVue™ surgeons use the Custom LASIK technology to measure these visual imperfections at 200 individual areas on the surface of the eye. Treating each of these 200 points individually creates a personalized CusomVue vision correction that is personallized for each specific eye. This treatment can potentially provide vision better than ever achieved with glasses or contact lenses.

Outstanding visual outcomes:

One year after the CustomVue™ procedure, a clinical study showed that 100% of patients could pass a driving test, 98% could see 20/20 or better, and 70% could see 20/16 or better.

In the clinical study, four times as many people were very satisfied with their night vision after the procedure as compared to their night vision before with glasses or contact lenses.
