We believe that a lack of focus for years on the entire eye and its various diseases will weaken a physician’s clinical acumen and decrease the physician’s ability to diagnose and manage these conditions. Oftentimes, it is of utmost importance to manage and detect medical conditions in the eye such as diabetes, hypertension, and glaucoma prior to recommending elective procedures such as LASIK. In addition, we believe that focusing on cash-only procedures is damaging to the traditional doctor-patient relationship. Oftentimes a visit to a cash-only procedure doctor’s office becomes similar to a visit to a LASIK dealership, where the patient feels that the entire focus of the medical staff and the physician is to sell LASIK for instance.
